I was chilling in this house in the kitchen on a bar stool. There seemed to be a gang of mostly bald tattooed Mexicans with shotguns hiding in this nicely re-modeled but dimly lit home. The lighting was that of subtle dome lights like that of which you would see in an art gallery lighting up the art or in a designers show model. It looked amazing and made the mood feel calm and relaxing. I couldn’t tell if i knew the gang or if they didn’t see me or if I was some kind of observer just floating around like a ghost in a scene to scene screen play… Cops came to the door looking for the gang and we waited outside for them to come out. I went inside to grab my things and came out but I forgot my shoes so i had to go back in. I grabbed my shoes and went back outside and waited. The cops were not there for me. There was a gun shot inside while I was waiting and then everyone rushed in to the building (not only the cops but everyone… …”chasing the sound”)….. I didn’t go in. I waited outside. People started running out almost in a frenzy but I didn’t see it as being very chaotic at all. It was kind of predictable and orderly in my mind. I tripped one of the guys running out then held him down thinking he was one of the bad guys. After that I held him in some weird floating position from the side of a 2nd story stairwell. It oddly looked aerobatic. I don’t know why this was happening but it was wicked looking. He looked like he was floating sideways by one hand outstretched in mid air. I held him like a circus show act or something. Random things seem to be glowing like LEDs highlighting things around me. Maybe it was light graffitti I was envisioning in my mind. At some point we played this crazy 3d graphic video game and it was on Super Nintendo and it was called Frying… referring to an acid trip. The visual scene jumped into this uber graphic low to the ground flyby in the darkness of the night. The coolest glitchy downtempo sound was the theme playing with not too much beat. I didn’t actually see myself in a helicopter during this flyby. i could have been actually flying. I don’t know. The city line was glowing and gorgeous. I had never seen a city from an angle like that and the flyby kept stuttering in this crazy motion to the beat. I wish I could have recorded the melody. It was beautiful. The scene hovered down the river with glistening water and with the moon light reflecting off the small ripples of waves in the somewhat calm water. We hovered between the buildings in a shifty stutter mode and around a group of people dancing around a campfire. Everything moved like the bullet scene in the Matrix movie. I saw the back of a girl near the camp fire. The view stuttered then froze then stuttered then flew away. The camera view flew around the outside of taglines spray painted on the walls. The walls in parts were crumbling around the building. The dancing people stuttered in movement and so did the flames in the fire. The frame moved back down flying through the city again and over the glowing water. It ended up at the end of the city on the beach. There were what appeared to be fireworks in the distance or lots of crazy colorful lights in the fog in the distance out by the ocean water. Some crazy people were flying this hot air balloon like mad men over the edge of the hotel balconies. It seemed like some crazy new extreme sport. There was sand/ beach/ campfires. I went to check in to the hotel with a girl. I don’t remember who it was or even if I remember her face… so she was mysterious/faceless. I’m not sure if I knew her or not. I had a coupon printed out for a $109 for some deluxe room or something. I woke up.

Flying

This mix is deep, glitchy, and melodic with heavy but smooth basslines. It has a bit of chilled downtempo as well as deep psystepping gritty bass and drums. There is a bit of indie rock mixed in as well. This mix is the result of my thorough dive this summer into Indie rock music from a few festivals and concerts I went to. So……. the best place in the world to be ever in the history of all that is heavenly… the “Lightning in a Bottle” festival in Irvine, CA on memorial weekend. The art was in every little nook and cranny and was fantastic. Everyone was smiling and everyone was friendly. The music was great. There was not a single act nor DJ I couldn’t at least enjoy for 10 minutes. The campgrounds were clean. The bathrooms were clean. There was Yoga. There were circles of people playing instruments and jamming at every turn. There were people DJ’ing at their camp spots. The sound systems was perfect; not too loud, not too soft. You could walk around with your own beer but even if you chose to buy beer it was good beer (not that piss water crap) and it was cheap. There was amazing food, organic fruit and veggies, smoothies, juice bars, etc… There were little general stores that had everything. It was like a small city full of wonder. Every festival should model their festival after this one. This was heaven. I want to live there… I took some video, here is a few clips from 2011.
