SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR FOOD

Solution #1: Start Eating Raw/Organic – If you don’t do anything else on this list, I
highly advise you to eat more organic food and support the organic community. There are
numerous organic farmers markets and stores around the world that sell organic foods
and products. When you goto these stores look for 2 stickers or labels. The first label is
the USDA green sticker. This label means that the food or product is made up of almost
entirely organic ingredients and/or is grown on an organic farm. No man made chemicals
ever touch the produce. No preservatives, no pesticides, and no additives are used. If it
doesn’t have this logo on it then it is NOT organic and is not any better than the food you
get at the supermarkets. The second sticker is on fruits and vegetables. There is a number
on these stickers. If it starts with a “9″…it’s organic. If it starts with a “4″, it’s not. If it
starts with an “8″, it’s genetically modified. Another rule is the total count of digits in the
number. 4 digits for non-organic and 5 digits for organic and genetically modified. Only
eat the ones with 5 digits that start with a “9”. You wont find many of these if any at all at
most standard grocers. You may have to goto a local farmers market or a place like
Whole Foods or Sprouts. The word NATURAL does NOT mean organic. Natural
generally means that the company creating the product is too cheap to use real organic
products so instead they substitute the would be organic ingredients with artificial man
made substitutes that may or may not contain ingredients from natural sources. Confused
yet? Well, that is the point. If the consumer is confused then they wont notice that their
food is not organic. When buying food go for raw and organically grown. If
organically grown is not available then look for locally grown. Locally grown food will
have less preservatives if any at all then regular fruits and vegetables since they dont have
to travel. Again, avoid the word Natural as it is just a word that is used to trick the consumer.

Solution #2: Replace your milk with USDA Organic milk or Soy - Organic dairy farms DO NOT inject their cows with antibiotics, growth hormones, or any other toxic chemical. The cows
also graze in open organic pastures where they can frolic in uber-healthy-land. This is your
food! Don't let it deteriorate. Organic tastes better and last months before it actually goes bad. An even better solution is SOY milk since it has more protein. Soy milk should be used especially if you have any digestive problems or any sensitivity to dairy.

Solution #4: Start reading the ingredients list– Start reading the ingredient lists of the food you are eating. At first this will seem a bit overwhelming as you wont know what half the
stuff is but after doing it for a while and continuing to educate your self about food, you will
see through the label and understand whether it is good for you or not. If you have any doubts then just stick with the USDA Organic labeled items. If you cant pronounce the ingrdients you shouldnt be eating them.

Solution #5: Replace your coffee and soda with tea – Try putting a nail in a glass of soda
and let it sit for a few days. The nail will completely dissolve! Regarding the PH balance of
soda. It is 2.0. Battery acid is 1.0 and water is about 6.5-7. An ideal and balanced PH level is
around 7+. Soda is very unhealthy. If you must drink soda, buy organic soda with organic
cane sugar. As for the type of tea to drink? I personally enjoy any of the following:
Kombucha, Yerbe Matte, Green Tea, Black Tea or any of the major Asian teas cold or hot.
Again, just look for teas with the USDA Organic logo printed on them. Tea without sugar is
far more healthier than Tea with sugar. Remember, too much sugar is one of the major
reasons people develop diabetes. Watch your sugar intake.

Solution #6: Stop eating “hot button” labels – like any product with labels stating "diet",
"fat-free", "no trans fat", "sugar free", "low carbs", etc... these products are loaded with
artificial chemical replacements that aren't good for you.

Solution #7: Avoid pastuerized and homogonized dairy products - Homogenization and
pasteurization destroy most of the living active nutrients found in dairy and juices. If you
drink a lot of juice look for unpasteurized and NOT from concentrate.

Solution #8: Eat raw organic uncooked nuts, not roasted – Avoid pasteurized and/or
heat treated nuts or seeds. Pasteurization of nuts and seeds can destroy active enzymes
and diminish the vitamin content of food. Roasted salty nuts that you find in the grocery store are about as healthy as eating potato chips. Also note that in the USA, Almonds are
usually pasteurizated. If you want to eat almonds, look for “Truly Raw” almonds.
I
believe also that most cashews fall under this category as well.

Solution #9: If it sounds like a chemical, avoid it - you should be able to at least read the
ingredients list. If it doesn’t come from nature don’t put it in your mouth nor put it on your
skin. This goes for soaps, lotions, shampoos, deodorants, lip balm, makeup, etc...

Solution #10: Avoid diet drinks and fake sugars – dont eat high fructrose corn syrup,
dextrose, multidextrine, msg/monosodiumglutamate, nutrisweet, or apertame. Diet drinks are
packed with these chemicals. The diet drinks are actually worse for you than the regular
sodas. If you need sugar, use organic cane sugar. Its delicious!

Solution #11: Stop or reduce your Fast Food eating – I probably dont have to tell you why. If you must have fast food, move to healthier choices like soup and salad restaurants or delis or sandwich shops.

Solution #12: Limit your usage of the microwave - microwaves kill essential nutrients and
alter the molecular structure of your food.

Solution #13: Steam when possible – steam your vegetables and/or fruits instead of boiling
or cooking. It helps preserve essential nutrients.

Solution #14: use sea salt instead of regular salt

Solution #15: if you love chocolate, eat organic dark chocolate instead

Solution #16: replace white processed flour with whole grain flour.

Solution #17: Stay away from energy bars, diet drinks, and weight loss drinks. - They all
contain unhealthy chemicals.

Solution #18: eat lots of healthy snacks – raw nuts, raw seeds, organic fruits and vegetables

Solution #19: take a "whole food" supplement - NOT vitamin supplements ( vitamin
supplements use synthetic drugs since they are cheaper to make). Check out your local health
food store or visit iherb.com for a large selection of "Whole Food Supplement" items.

Solution #20: take herbal supplements and/or homeopathic medicine to address your
symptoms. There are homepathic medinces for headaches, stomach aches, heartburn, aches
and pains, cold and flu, etc...

Solution #21: Plant a garden or a fruit tree – now obviously this solution is a time
consumer but it would definitley be nice to have my own grapefruit tree.

Solution #22: Cook more – there are countless websites and books about organic and raw
food cooking. Pick up a few of them.

Solution #23: Move toward an all organic and/or all organic raw food diet – Some people are able to jump right into this. Others may take years to slowly move into it. The more you educate your self about food and your body, the more you will understand the benefits of
organic and/or raw foods.
