Yes, you read that right: &lt;br /&gt;food is  the leading cause of disease. How can that be?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The answer  isn&#039;t complicated: people are consuming a record volume of refined, pro-&lt;br /&gt;cessed  foods that exhibit three critical properties:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM #1  Food Nutritionally deplete&lt;/strong&gt; - This is especially true of all refined  grains &lt;br /&gt;like white flour, white rice, instant oats, and other similar  items. They&#039;ve all had their nat-&lt;br /&gt;ural oils, fiber, vitamins and  minerals stripped during the manufacturing process.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM  #2: Food Made with Toxic Ingredients&lt;/strong&gt; - They are made with  ingredients &lt;br /&gt;that cause cancer, diabetes, brain damage and other  disorders. Only &lt;br /&gt;eat the ones with 5 digits that start with a &amp;ldquo;9&amp;rdquo;. You wont find many of these if any at all at &lt;br /&gt;most standard grocers. You may have to goto a local farmers market or a place like &lt;br /&gt;Whole Foods or Sprouts. &lt;strong&gt;The word NATURAL does NOT mean organic.&lt;/strong&gt; Natural &lt;br /&gt;generally means that the company creating the product is too cheap to use real organic &lt;br /&gt;products so instead they substitute the would be organic ingredients with artificial man &lt;br /&gt;made substitutes that may or may not contain ingredients from natural sources. Confused &lt;br /&gt;yet? Well, that is the point. If the consumer is confused then they wont notice that their &lt;br /&gt;food is not organic. When buying food go for raw and organically grown. If &lt;br /&gt;organically grown is not available then look for locally grown. Locally grown food will &lt;br /&gt;have less preservatives if any at all then regular fruits and vegetables since they dont have &lt;br /&gt;to travel. &lt;strong&gt;Again, avoid the word Natural as it is just a word that is used to trick the consumer.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #2: Replace your milk with USDA Organic milk or Soy -&lt;/strong&gt; Organic dairy farms DO NOT inject their cows with antibiotics, growth hormones, or any other toxic chemical. The cows &lt;br /&gt;also graze in open organic pastures where they can frolic in uber-healthy-land. This is your &lt;br /&gt;food! Don&#039;t let it deteriorate. Organic tastes better and last months before it actually goes bad. An even better solution is SOY milk since it has more protein. &lt;strong&gt;Soy milk should be used especially if you have any digestive problems or any sensitivity to dairy.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #4: Start reading the ingredients list&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; Start reading the ingredient lists of the food you are eating. At first this will seem a bit overwhelming as you wont know what half the &lt;br /&gt;stuff is but after doing it for a while and continuing to educate your self about food, you will &lt;br /&gt;see through the label and understand whether it is good for you or not. If you have any doubts then just stick with the USDA Organic labeled items. If you cant pronounce the ingrdients you shouldnt be eating them.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #5: Replace your coffee and soda with tea &lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; Try putting a nail in a glass of soda &lt;br /&gt;and let it sit for a few days. The nail will completely dissolve! Regarding the PH balance of &lt;br /&gt;soda. It is 2.0. Battery acid is 1.0 and water is about 6.5-7. An ideal and balanced PH level is &lt;br /&gt;around 7+. Soda is very unhealthy. If you must drink soda, buy organic soda with organic &lt;br /&gt;cane sugar. As for the type of tea to drink? I personally enjoy any of the following: &lt;br /&gt;Kombucha, Yerbe Matte, Green Tea, Black Tea or any of the major Asian teas cold or hot. &lt;br /&gt;Again, just look for teas with the USDA Organic logo printed on them. Tea without sugar is &lt;br /&gt;far more healthier than Tea with sugar. Remember, too much sugar is one of the major &lt;br /&gt;reasons people develop diabetes. Watch your sugar intake.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #6: Stop eating &amp;ldquo;hot button&amp;rdquo; labels &lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; like any product with labels stating &quot;diet&quot;, &lt;br /&gt;&quot;fat-free&quot;, &quot;no trans fat&quot;, &quot;sugar free&quot;, &quot;low carbs&quot;, etc... these products are loaded with &lt;br /&gt;artificial chemical replacements that aren&#039;t good for you.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #7: Avoid pastuerized and homogonized dairy products &lt;/strong&gt;- Homogenization and &lt;br /&gt;pasteurization destroy most of the living active nutrients found in dairy and juices. If you&lt;br /&gt;drink a lot of juice look for unpasteurized and NOT from concentrate.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #8: Eat raw organic uncooked nuts, not roasted &lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; Avoid pasteurized and/or &lt;br /&gt;heat treated nuts or seeds. Pasteurization of nuts and seeds can destroy active enzymes &lt;br /&gt;and diminish the vitamin content of food. Roasted salty nuts that you find in the grocery store are about as healthy as eating potato chips. &lt;strong&gt;Also note that in the USA, Almonds are &lt;br /&gt;usually pasteurizated. If you want to eat almonds, look for &amp;ldquo;Truly Raw&amp;rdquo; almonds.&lt;/strong&gt; I &lt;br /&gt;believe also that most cashews fall under this category as well.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #9: If it sounds like a chemical, avoid it &lt;/strong&gt;- you should be able to at least read the &lt;br /&gt;ingredients list. If it doesn&amp;rsquo;t come from nature don&amp;rsquo;t put it in your mouth nor put it on your &lt;br /&gt;skin. This goes for soaps, lotions, shampoos, deodorants, lip balm, makeup, etc...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #10: Avoid diet drinks and fake sugars&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; dont eat high fructrose corn syrup, &lt;br /&gt;dextrose, multidextrine, msg/monosodiumglutamate, nutrisweet, or apertame. Diet drinks are &lt;br /&gt;packed with these chemicals. The diet drinks are actually worse for you than the regular &lt;br /&gt;sodas. If you need sugar, use organic cane sugar. Its delicious!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #11: Stop or reduce your Fast Food eating&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; I probably dont have to tell you why. If you must have fast food, move to healthier choices like soup and salad restaurants or delis or sandwich shops.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #12: Limit your usage of the microwave&lt;/strong&gt; - microwaves kill essential nutrients and &lt;br /&gt;alter the molecular structure of your food.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #13: Steam when possible &lt;/strong&gt;&amp;ndash; steam your vegetables and/or fruits instead of boiling &lt;br /&gt;or cooking. It helps preserve essential nutrients.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #14: use sea salt&lt;/strong&gt; instead of regular salt&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #21: Plant a garden or a fruit tree&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; now obviously this solution is a time &lt;br /&gt;consumer but it would definitley be nice to have my own grapefruit tree.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #1: Avoid the latest fad in diets&lt;/strong&gt; - look into pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Stop &lt;br /&gt;chasing a dreamy commercial ad or magazine cover. Many fad diets starve your body of &lt;br /&gt;essential nutrients which can make things worse. Instead follow the &amp;ldquo;solutions for your food&amp;rdquo; &lt;br /&gt;section later in this chapter. A healthy diet will bring your body to a healthy weight, will &lt;br /&gt;remove excess fat, and promote healthy muscle growth.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #2: Start seeing a homeopathic or naturopathic doctor&lt;/strong&gt; - explain to them any health concerns you have. These doctors will help heal your body from the inside out and can &lt;br /&gt;provide thorough recommendations on how to correct your health issues naturally. Many of &lt;br /&gt;them can also perform tests to determine any nutritional deficiencies and/or metal toxicities &lt;br /&gt;that you have in your system.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #3: Find Some Enjoyable Exercise&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;ndash; we aren&amp;rsquo;t meant to sit in front of computers &lt;br /&gt;and tvs all day. Your body needs stimulation. If you don&amp;rsquo;t like to exercise, you can still come &lt;br /&gt;up with fun activities to participate in. Take the stairs, park your car further away from the entrances. If you are going down the street, walk instead of drive. Driving your car is stressful for your body as it makes your body tense in high traffic. Ride a bike or walk when you can.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #5: Learn about PH&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; PH is a ratio that determines whether an item or environment &lt;br /&gt;is acidic or alkaline. Disease can not survive in an alkaline state. Learn about how to balance &lt;br /&gt;the PH level of your body through diet and nutrition. You don&amp;rsquo;t have to do yoga or meditate daily but when stressed out at home or at work &lt;br /&gt;just take deep breaths and close your eyes for a minute or so.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #7: Reduce/Eliminate drug intake (when possible)&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; antibiotics, anti-&lt;br /&gt;inflammatories, and other prescription and non-prescription drugs should be considered last &lt;br /&gt;resort. If you visit a doctor in many other countries, this practice is common. The healthier &lt;br /&gt;you make your body through good food intake and exercise, the less likely you will need &lt;br /&gt;these drugs. Also, if you smoke cigarettes or take any narcotics, quit.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #9: Filter your Breathing Air&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Look into getting a Hepa air filter either for your &lt;br /&gt;bedroom or for your whole house. Also, if you work in an office, get a small one for your &lt;br /&gt;desk. These filters eliminate 99.9% of allergens, bacteria, and other contaminants that might &lt;br /&gt;be floating around in the air and can be an additional and very effective wall of defense for &lt;br /&gt;you immune system. Also, get the air vents in your house cleaned at least once a year and &lt;br /&gt;make sure you have a good clean filter in your HVAC system.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #10: Wash your Hands&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; You don&amp;rsquo;t have to be a neat freak about it. Just remember to wash your hands before leaving the bathroom and wash your hands before you eat.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #11: Get some sun&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Sun is good for your body and your skin. 20 minutes a day in &lt;br /&gt;direct sunlight with no sunglasses and no sun tan lotion is plenty but some is always better &lt;br /&gt;than none. Remember anything you put on your skin absorbs into your blood stream in 8 &lt;br /&gt;seconds. Be wary of what you place on your skin.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #14: Replace air fresheners&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; If you use air fresheners in your home or car, replace them with natural remedies like citrus oil or aromatheraoy products or something similar. You want to avoid the aerosols and avoid as much as possible any unnecessary chemicals in your breathing air.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #15: Get more Sleep, but not too much&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Your body heals itself while you are &lt;br /&gt;sleeping. The ideal hours of sleep per night is 8, no more and no less. The ideal time to sleep &lt;br /&gt;is 10pm-6am. Obviously, not everyone can fit into this schedule but if you are only sleeping &lt;br /&gt;6 hours a night, trust me, it will catch up to you eventually.Solution #16: Replace your alarm clock &amp;ndash; Abrupt piercing alarm clocks disrupt and shock your system. This is one of the main reasons people feel tired in the morning. There are alarm clocks available called &amp;ldquo;Progressive Alarm Clocks&amp;rdquo;. Some work by slowly lighting the room, other work by slowly increasing the volume of the alarm. They even make watches that monitor your heart rate and wake you up at the appropriate time. This is a far better investment than a trip to Starbucks.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #17: Limit exposure to News and TV Commercials&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; If you haven&amp;rsquo;t noticed, &lt;br /&gt;almost all news on TV and in newspapers is always about some tragic event or some &lt;br /&gt;frightening situation. Just turn it off and tune it out. There is no need to sit through 30 &lt;br /&gt;minutes of &amp;ldquo;Oh my&amp;hellip; wow&amp;hellip; I cant believe it! Whats going to happen next?&amp;rdquo; Use that time &lt;br /&gt;instead to read a book. As for television, every other commercial is a commercial for a &amp;ldquo;drug &lt;br /&gt;that cures all your problems&amp;rdquo;. I don&amp;rsquo;t know about you but I don&amp;rsquo;t really enjoy willingly &lt;br /&gt;sitting through 30-60 second sales pitches for products I don&amp;rsquo;t need.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #18: Reduce debts&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Come up with a plan to reduce your debt. Debt leads to stress and stress leads to disease. You don&amp;rsquo;t need those fancy shoes or that brand new car. Instead invest in your self and invest in your health.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #19: Get a Massage&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; A good massage therapist will find knots in your muscles and &lt;br /&gt;will push them out. If you work on a computer a lot you can probably feel the knots behind &lt;br /&gt;your right should blade. A massage therapist can clear these out for you. Women generally &lt;br /&gt;need more work done around their neck area while men tend to need it more in their lower &lt;br /&gt;back and shoulders.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #20: Stand up and Stretch&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Stretch your muscles. Get up and move around. It &lt;br /&gt;promotes positive blood flow.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #21: Morning Glass of Water&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; When you wake up in the morning drink a large &lt;br /&gt;glass of water as the first thing you do. Your body is most likely a bit dehydrated from not &lt;br /&gt;eating or drinking all night so replenish it first thing in the morning with some water and do &lt;br /&gt;not skip breakfast.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Solution #22: Write down your Goals&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; Writing down your ideas and your goals then &lt;br /&gt;mapping them out and completing them like a checklist is very satisfying. This is good for &lt;br /&gt;your well being and will provide much more happiness to your life.&lt;/p&gt;

All of this is the &lt;br /&gt;result of the fact that the medical system in this country is organized first of all to provide&lt;br /&gt;profit, not care.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The deadly results are shown in a recent study carried out by the Institute of Medicine, an&lt;br /&gt;organization of experts advising Congress on medical questions. They reported that more&lt;br /&gt;than 18,000 adults die each year because they are uninsured and can&#039;t get proper health &lt;br /&gt;care.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM #1: Medical insurance for profit &lt;/strong&gt;- At the center of the U.S. medical care &lt;br /&gt;system is the insurance industry, which is dominated by for-profit insurance companies that administer the financial parts of the system. While there still is a part of the medical &lt;br /&gt;insurance industry in the non-profit Blue Cross system, that portion continues to shrink. &lt;br /&gt;Today, the non-profits cover less than 27 per cent of the insured. Not only is the health &lt;br /&gt;insurance industry today dominated by for-profit companies, it&#039;s dominated by only five &lt;br /&gt;companies, which cover 40 per cent of the insured. Such tremendous concentration has &lt;br /&gt;made it easier for the insurance industry to increase premiums at a rate that is going up &lt;br /&gt;much faster than is the cost of providing medical care, a cost which also increases out-&lt;br /&gt;rageously.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM #2: Hospitals for Profit &lt;/strong&gt;- Six years ago, one fifth of all hospitals were for &lt;br /&gt;profit. Today, a recent study, whose results were published in the New England Journal&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;of Medicine, found that for-profit hospitals are always more expensive than public or &lt;br /&gt;non-profit hospitals. And they also tend to provide less care. Besides that, they don&#039;t usu-&lt;br /&gt;ally provide extremely important medical services such as burn treatment, spinal cord in-&lt;br /&gt;jury treatment, AIDs treatment, and neonatal intensive care, since these community ser-&lt;br /&gt;vices generate little net revenue and are often operated at a loss. Private for-profit hospit-&lt;br /&gt;als also provide almost no care for people who cannot pay.&lt;br /&gt;Said Dr. Steffie Woolhandler, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard and the co-au-&lt;br /&gt;thor of the study, &quot;It&#039;s a myth that for-profit hospitals are efficient. They save money by &lt;br /&gt;laying off nurses, then hire consultants and bureaucrats to figure out how to avoid un-&lt;br /&gt;profitable patients and maximize revenues. For-profits increase costs, decrease care and &lt;br /&gt;generate windfall profits like the $359 million pocketed by Rick Scott [the CEO] of&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;Columbia/HCA [the biggest for-profit company].&quot;&lt;br /&gt;A study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine found that patients at for-profit hos-&lt;br /&gt;pitals are two to four times more likely than patients at not-for-profit hospitals to suffer &lt;br /&gt;complications from surgery or delays in diagnosing and treating an illness. In fact, the &lt;br /&gt;only thing these hospitals are good at is generating profits that are often four to five times &lt;br /&gt;greater than the surpluses generated by non-profit or public hospitals.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM #3: Pharmaceutical industry for Profit &lt;/strong&gt;- Drug costs are consuming an ever &lt;br /&gt;larger part of spending on medical care. In 1993, prescription drugs made up 5.6 per cent &lt;br /&gt;of all health care spending. It rose to 8.0 per cent in 1998. It has risen even faster in the &lt;br /&gt;last five years. This increase is one of the reasons that the elderly pay a larger share of &lt;br /&gt;their income today for health care than they spent before the advent of Medicare in 1965.&lt;br /&gt;The giant pharmaceuticals may justify these rapidly increasing costs by saying that the &lt;br /&gt;money goes to fund research and development of new drugs. But, in fact, only about 10 &lt;br /&gt;to 15 per cent of what these companies take in actually goes to what they call research &lt;br /&gt;and development. Most of the rest goes to big marketing campaigns, administrative costs &lt;br /&gt;&amp;ndash; especially the high salaries and bonuses of the executives &amp;ndash; or to profits. Pharmaceutic-&lt;br /&gt;al companies regularly earn profits at rates that are three times higher than companies in &lt;br /&gt;all other industries. It&#039;s not research but profit that has driven drug prices into the strato-&lt;br /&gt;sphere.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PROBLEM #4: Bureaucracy and waste &lt;/strong&gt;- The very structure of the health care industry, &lt;br /&gt;which is organized around the production of profits, is incredibly fragmented, bureaucrat-&lt;br /&gt;ic and inefficient. There are multitudes of private insurance plans, public programs and &lt;br /&gt;no programs at all for the uninsured. Enormous staff are needed to create and revise pro-&lt;br /&gt;vider plans, then administer them. There is a whole bureaucracy whose work is aimed at &lt;br /&gt;keeping sick patients out of hospital beds and sick patients away from doctors. Armies of &lt;br /&gt;administrators are used by hospitals to try to squeeze payments from insurance compan-&lt;br /&gt;ies, and at insurance companies, armies of administrators do the reverse. And they both &lt;br /&gt;are busy trying to squeeze down the prices they pay to the pharmaceutical companies. &lt;br /&gt;Rather than work together, the administrators from one sector of the medical care system &lt;br /&gt;are constantly at war with administrators from other sectors, wrestling over who keeps &lt;br /&gt;each health care dollar.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Over the last 30 years, as the health care industry has become a more and more important &lt;br /&gt;provider of profits, this bureaucracy has mushroomed, increasing in size 25 times! It &lt;br /&gt;grew at a rate that was 10 times faster than the number of people who actually provide &lt;br /&gt;health care and make the health system run, from doctors and nurses to technicians and &lt;br /&gt;janitors. Last year, administrative expenses accounted for 400 billion dollars, or more &lt;br /&gt;than 25 per cent of all health care costs. If the administrative costs were reduced to the &lt;br /&gt;level of Canada, which has a single payer system of medical care, more than 286 billion &lt;br /&gt;dollars would be saved. This is enough money to extend health care coverage to the unin-&lt;br /&gt;sured &amp;ndash; and better coverage to the rest of the population.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fact that profit dominates the health care industry is what has been pricing health &lt;br /&gt;care increasingly out of reach of people with ordinary incomes. According to Hewitt As-&lt;br /&gt;sociates, a benefits consulting company, the annual out-of-pocket costs for employees of &lt;br /&gt;large companies have more than doubled over the last five years to an average of $2126, &lt;br /&gt;with bigger increases projected in the years to come. Part of this is due to the rising prices &lt;br /&gt;that the health industry charges. The purpose of a vaccine is to prevent a future dangerous infection of a virus by providing your body with immunity to the virus itself. A vaccine is actually a smaller less violent version of the original virus. You are injected with the engineered virus that your immune system is able to destroy. This process generally works because your immune system remembers how to destroy that type of virus and is able to fight off the original virus in the future. Vaccines do not cure you if you are already infected. They are only a preventative method and are usually used to prevent pandemics through what is called &amp;ldquo;herd immunity&amp;rdquo; (providing millions of people with vaccines or flu shots). Vaccines do not guarantee complete protection from a disease. Sometimes this is because the host&#039;s immune system simply doesn&#039;t respond adequately or at all or because the host&#039;s immune system does not have a B cell capable of generating antibodies to fight that antigen. Every human body is different and will react accordingly. Some people may have side effects and some may die due to the vaccine itself. Antiviral drugs do not actually kill the virus, they only stall their &lt;br /&gt;development and prevent the virus from completing a full blown infection of the host &lt;br /&gt;(human body and its cells). This is a major concern and is the number one reason why &lt;br /&gt;doctors will state &amp;ldquo;there is no cure for what you have&amp;rdquo;. This is partially true. What it &lt;br /&gt;really means is that, &amp;ldquo;we do not have a drug available for you to take that will kill or &lt;br /&gt;destroy the virus. We only have a drug available that you must take on a recurring basis forever to constantly contain the virus and prevent it from rising into a full blown infection again.&amp;rdquo; Also, a virus strain will eventually mutate and become immune to antiviral drugs. This is called drug resistance and some state that this time frame is about 10-15 years. As you can imagine this might put a nasty strain on your immune system over time. This is generally why many diseased or virus infected people might die a slow death. The antiviral drugs that have been successfully postponing the development of the virus into a full blown infection eventually wear off and the virus mutates over time and eventually becomes resistant to the drug&#039;s effect. In summary, antiviral drugs do a successful job in hindering the virus from spreading, albeit temporarily, but eventually the virus will win in the long run. Most doctors and patients fail to realize this information before its too late. Organs, &lt;br /&gt;tissues, cells, and cell products work together to respond quickly to dangerous organisms &lt;br /&gt;(like viruses and bacteria). There are three types of response systems in the immune system: &lt;br /&gt;the anatomic response, the inflammatory response, and the immune response. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Anatomic Response:&lt;/strong&gt; This system physically prevents threatening substances from entering your body much like a brick wall protecting your house. Examples of the anatomic system include your mucous membranes (at the nostrils, the lips, the ears, the genital area, and the anus). Another easily understandable example is your skin. This is usually your body&#039;s first line of defense in preventing infection from a virus or bacteria. You wont really ever notice this system at work since it is constantly active and protects you from most bacteria and/or virus&#039;. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Inflammatory Response:&lt;/strong&gt; If bacteria or a virus gets past the physical system, the inflammatory system kicks in to overdrive by excreting or attempting to expel the invaders from your body. Sneezing, runny noses, fever, and swelling are examples of the inflammatory system at work. They work by trying to push the evil bacteria or bad virus out of your system like a fire hydrant popping open. It may also try to kill or isolate the bacteria or virus. An example of this is a fever. Your body raises its temperature in order to kill the bacteria in your body by overheating it. The purpose of swelling is your body isolating the bacteria or virus from reaching other parts of your body. While you may not feel well while these events are occurring, your body is actually fighting illness during these process&#039; and it is generally a good sign of recovery. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Immune Response:&lt;/strong&gt; This is the central part of the immune system and is made up of white blood cells, which fight infection by swimming through your blood stream and gobbling up antigens. Antigens are the parts and pieces that make up bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that your body doesn&#039;t want in it. Antigens are the enemy in this war. Antigens include unwanted coats, capsules, cell walls, flagella, fimbrae, and toxins. About a quarter of white blood cells, called the lymphocytes, migrate to the lymph nodes (little war pods) and produce antibodies. Antibodies are like soldiers with swords ready to combat disease by attaching themselves to the antigens (toxins) in your bloodstream and destroying them.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When dealing with your health and dealing with an infection or a sickness you will generally &lt;br /&gt;only be dealing with the &amp;ldquo;Inflammatory Response System&amp;rdquo; and the core &amp;ldquo;Immune Response &lt;br /&gt;System&amp;rdquo;. Consider this fight a war with the enemy much like a war between countries or a &lt;br /&gt;war between the feeble and the bully. Controlling your inflammatory response system will, at &lt;br /&gt;a basic level, only address your symptoms. Most over-the-counter and prescription drugs &lt;br /&gt;only address the symptoms created by the inflammatory response system. They might &lt;br /&gt;eliminate your sneeze or they might reduce your fever but the problem with this is that you &lt;br /&gt;have now cutoff one of your bodies defense systems and your last defense (immune response &lt;br /&gt;system) must then go into hyper-drive because you just took a pill that is now tying up the hands of one of its strongest allies. These drugs don&#039;t address the root of the problem. They &lt;br /&gt;only hinder and prevent your body from healing itself from within. If you really want to rid &lt;br /&gt;of a disease, a virus, or a tricky bacteria, the immune response system is what you are going &lt;br /&gt;to need to assist, not the inflammatory response system. You should only need to counter the &lt;br /&gt;inflammatory response system if it gets out of control such as a high fever or excessive &lt;br /&gt;swelling or excessive coughing that is affecting your ability to breath or affecting other &lt;br /&gt;essential organs from functioning normally. Coughing, sneezing, and fevers are essential to &lt;br /&gt;your body&amp;rsquo;s heeling process as they help rid of bacteria and viruses. If you properly assist &lt;br /&gt;your immune response system with the appropriate strategy for your condition, the symptoms &lt;br /&gt;will surely go away and the inflammatory response system will subside as your body heals &lt;br /&gt;itself. When your dealing with a chronic or persistent condition your Immune Response &lt;br /&gt;System is going to need some help in building up its army. Remember this is a war against &lt;br /&gt;your health and well being. The proper strategy is what determines who comes out on top in &lt;br /&gt;the end. You vs. the Virus.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING.&lt;/strong&gt; You can easily use nothing more &lt;br /&gt;than food and herbs to help build your proper immune system army, however, you MUST &lt;br /&gt;determine what type of bacteria or virus you are infected with. This is because certain viruses &lt;br /&gt;may be immune to certain antibodies that your immune response system is generating. If you &lt;br /&gt;build up your army with the wrong type of soldiers eventually you will have a large number &lt;br /&gt;of angry, tired, and exhausted soldiers. Eventually, these excessive antibodies (soldiers) will &lt;br /&gt;turn on you and start harming the wrong cells. Its like you sent in the marines on foot to &lt;br /&gt;battle a warship. &lt;strong&gt;IT IS DIRELY IMPORTANT&lt;/strong&gt; to understand that certain foods and certain &lt;br /&gt;herbs help to build certain armies. Knowing which armies you need to build is essential to the &lt;br /&gt;successful butt kicking of the nasty enemy bacteria or virus&#039;. The easiest example of how &lt;br /&gt;building the wrong army can harm you is the Allergy. Allergies are antigens (evil enemies) &lt;br /&gt;that may enter your system either through eating, drinking,&amp;nbsp; breathing, or any other means of &lt;br /&gt;entry. Your body is hypersensitive to the allergen meaning it gets really pissed off when the &lt;br /&gt;allergen enters its turf. Your body in return overreacts to the the allergen and a huge &lt;br /&gt;unnecessary army is built up in your system very quickly. At this point if you don&#039;t take &lt;br /&gt;urgent action against your out of control army, this army may start destroying your system &lt;br /&gt;from within and possibly even killing you in the process either by quick inflammation or by &lt;br /&gt;slow deterioration through disease. This is why some people are able to survive cancer and &lt;br /&gt;others are not. The ones who survived had the proper battle plan addressing the concerns of &lt;br /&gt;their own body while the others unfortunately did not.
